First home bathroom reno

The project:

Not their forever home, but my son's first home. The bathroom needed an easy and cheap renovation that would look cleaner and last until the budget allowed for a complete makeover.

- Materials:

Bathtub repainted with Rust-Oleum White Gloss Tub and Tile Refinishing Kit

We used Selleys White Wet Area Waterproof Silicone Sealant around the bath and the vanity

- Step 1:

Remove all loose grout and top surface of grout still intact.

Clean bath and then follow instructions to repaint bath using the Rust-Oleum kit.

Regrout all the wall tiles using the Dunlop Jet Black grout.

Clean walls and ceiling and repaint with Dulux Lexicon Quarter.

Install new towel rail.

Install new vanity and shower.

Caulk along edges of bath and vanity with Silicone.

Seal grout and tiles in shower area with Tile & Grout Sealer.

What a great refresh for your son’s first home's bathroom. It looks much cleaner and more modern with a few simple changes.

It’s a good example of how much can be achieved without doing a full renovation. Repainting the bath, refreshing the grout, replacing the fittings and giving the walls a fresh coat of paint has made a big difference.
