The project:
This is our enusuite and it was unfunctional due to the multiple leeks in the shower, toilet and vanity, it was very out dated and needed a fresh new look. We had to pull everything out to start from the beginning to have a good foundation for a beautiful finish. It took my husbands and I 3 weeks to complete, he pulled out all the larger items and I removed the tiles and concrete. We gave it a good clean and water proof everything laid the cement, new plumbing, tiled and put in the new vanity, toilet and shower sealed all the gaps and a fresh coat of paint and the finish was amazing.
- Materials:
Tiles, ROCKCOTE cement, selleys no more gaps white interior gapfiller, Dunlop ultra white grout, crommelin 4L waterproofing membrane, alpalmer paint gloss white, Dunlop wall and floor adhesive, mondella shower glass panel, mondella concerto 3 function rail shower head, mondella Cadenza white 2 door mirrored shaving cabinet estilo vanity and basin
- Tools:
Hammer, chizzle, Jack hammer, trail, level, paint brushes, power drill, screw driver, tiles spacers
- Step 1:
Take out the existing bathroom
- Step 2:
Apply waterproofing membrane
- Step 3:
Level the floor with cerment render. Once dry apply more waterproofing to the shower area
- Step 4:
Installing the tiles
- Step 5:
Painting with white gloss we picked gloss for easy cleaning and a brighter finish
- Step 6:
Grout we picked similar tone grout as the floor tiles to keep the colour flow and white grout with the white wall tile. install shower head and exhaust fan.
- Step 7:
Install the mirrored cabinet and toilet
- Step 8:
Plumb in the vanity and used gap filler around the edges to prevent unwanted water behind the vanity wall
- Step 9:
Final Steps installed the shower glass, seal with clear silicone , attach hand towel hook and toilet paper holder and this was the finished look
