How to turn off new mixer tap?

Hi team,

We are currently switching over laundry sinks and are trying to install the Mondella Resonance Pull out sink mixer.

This is not being connected to a hot water pipe, only cold.

The tap will not turn off and keeps running water.

Please help!

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

Just a note that unfortunately installing or altering a sink mixer is licensed plumbing work, so I’d recommend stopping at this point and getting a licensed plumber to connect and check it.

Most sink mixers are designed to have both the hot and cold inlets connected. If only the cold hose is connected, water can behave unpredictably depending on the cartridge position. In some cases, it may not shut off properly, may leak from the unused inlet, or may allow water to pass internally through the mixer.

Your plumber may have a way to cap the hot water inlet in the tap, but I suspect you will likely need to purchase a different tap for them to install.
