Living room archway

The project:

created a cozy living room nook

- Materials:

gyprock sheets, 6mm plywood, gyprock read mixed top coat, jointing tape, skirting trip for the curtain boxing, wear and tear natural white paint

- Tools:

drill, hammer, ozito table saw, level, hand saw, trowel

- Step 1:

cut wooden blocks too screw into existing wall to allow me to attach the sheets of plywood

Cut and screwed plywood to the wooden blocks

Then screwed a sheet of gyprock to the ply and cut with a handsaw

smoothed everything off with top coat

After allowing it to dry I sanded and painted

What a great transformation. The archway has created such a cosy, defined nook in the living room and really softens the space. It’s a great example of how a relatively simple framed addition can make a big impact in a room.
