Granny flat entire reno with kitchen

The project:

bought a house and granny flat, had to complete an entire make over for the granny flat,

2 bedrooms, no space for wardrobes in the bedroom, so I created an additional wall bringing doors forward and making the lounge room smaller, but created an entire walk in wardrobe

Full Bunnings kitchen and benches from the quote to a full self installation

- Materials:

laminated flooring

Practa wardrobes

Dulux paint

Ready made internal doors

- Tools:

sledge hammer

Royobi drill

Measuring tape

Table saw

Drop saw

floor board special tools

- Step 1:

I started with a sledgehammer, then moved to chisels and Stanley knife to rip up carpets

had the design in my head, put it on the walls with a marker

got the Bunnings kitchen man to come out to quote up and help me with the dimensions

painted the entire house,

done the flooring

Added the addition wall

Installed the kitchen

What an incredible amount of work you’ve taken on. Completing an entire granny flat renovation, from demolition and flooring through to paint, wardrobes and a full kitchen installation, is a huge achievement.

It was a clever idea to bring the doors forward and create a walk-in wardrobe, even if it meant taking a little space from the lounge room. That sort of practical layout change can make such a difference day to day functionality of the space.

The kitchen also looks fantastic, and it is brilliant to see what you've achieved with a bit of help from one of our fantastic Kitchens Experts.
