Workshop makeover with shelving and drawers

The project:

I got absolutely sick of not having enough drawers to store all my tools and never enough space to not have a clean workbench

- Materials:

18 mm plywood stacks of screws and glue,

Chalkboard paint, specrite acoustic panel, black paint, wipe on poly, drawer slides and hinges

- Tools:

Ozito track saw, Ozito drill, Ozito router, Bambu P1S 3d printer

- Step 1:

Draw out a plan and complete cutlist

- Step 2:

cut up lots of ply wood to build carcasses for the cabinets

- Step 3:

assemble cabinet carcasses

- Step 4:

add shelving and drawers

- Step 5:

finish the wood in poly

- Step 6:

Laminate plywood for bench top and install

- Step 7:

add backing and chalkboard

- Step 8:

install upper cabinets

- Step 9:

grab a Bunnings snag on the way for more supplies

- Step 10:

tidy up and organise all my tools

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for sharing your project.

What a brilliant workshop makeover. There’s nothing better than having a proper place for everything, and the combination of shelving, drawers and full height cabinets looks like it would make a huge difference keeping the workbench clear.

The plywood cabinetry looks solid and practical, and the benchtop is a great addition. I also like the chalkboard backing and acoustic panel detail, as they give the workshop a much more finished and customised feel.

Great work turning a frustrating storage problem into such a well-organised setup.

The Bunnings snag is an essential part of the process too.
