How to match paint to Haymes colour code?

Hi,

Many years back when we first painted our apartment, we used a paint with the attached Haymes label. Since then we have repainted rooms a few times and we always just go down to our local Bunnings and show the paint shop this label and get new paint. I also attached a few photos of the dulux paint that we got from bunnings last time.

Now, we have just moved to a new suburb and are half way through painting our new house in the same color. After going through the almost full 10L we had leftover, I have gone to my new local bunnings and showed the paint shop the label. But they flat out just say nope we have no idea what that is, we have no ability to even try to match that.

Is that true? I assumed bunnings would have some table to convert the Haymes canister colors to their own, if the dont already match. If not I am curious what the previous bunnings would have likely given me.

If I do have some mystery paint, what are my options to get it matched? I still have some fresh paint leftover, can I just bring in a sample of wet paint and have it matched? Or do I need to bring in a sample of dried paint?

Just to follow up on Erics responce above, I think he missed the colour name on your paint label. The paint colour is Natural White and the tins you've been given are a pre-mixed container of Natural White. It's such a common colour they keep it made up on the shelves. There will be no printed label on your can as the tinting is done by Dulux. You can see on the front of the can that it is labelled Natural White.

So, if you want more of the same colour, simply ask for Natural White in Dulux.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your paint colour.

I'm sorry but I am not familiar with the Haymes colour code system. The usual practice when you get a paint colour from the store and its colour matched or mixed, a paint tag is usually attached to the can (see sample image below). If you can find this Bunnings tag on any of the cans, it will have the paint formula that was used to make your paint colour.

If there are no tags on any of the paint cans, I can only suggest asking the paint specialist at the store if they can colour match the paint using the paint brands that the store carries. That would be Dulux, Taubmans and British Paints, but since you already have a Dulux mix handy, I suggest bringing this can to the store and asking them for a paint match.

Please note that we can't guarantee a 100 percent match, the paint specialist at the store will try their best to get as close as possible to the colour that you have.
