The project:
An old concrete laundry tub sitting in our garden inspired this Upcycled, budget friendly, under house mudroom/laundry. This was the final area of our home needing a much needed freshen up to complete our renovation and there was not a large budget remaining to commence! With the massive help of our local Bunnings and some left over plumbing supplies including sink mixer and toilet, this area is now a useful, easily accessible & functional utility room for our busy family of five plus two large dogs!

- Step 1:
Refurbishing & re-purposing concrete tub found in garden using Bunnings tools and materials - Bunnings water blaster, sandpaper, sealant. Inspo for this project.
- Step 2:
Clear out room and prep for painting throughout - ceiling with vivid white Dulux using Ozito Spayer. Walls with Wash n Wear vivid white painted on top of Dulux Fine Textured Paint to cover Bessa Block. Black Spray paint to freshen up tired old aluminium window slider.
- Step 3:
Built and installed Bunnings framing to retro-fit heavy concrete laundry tub and Kaboodle cabinet doors.
- Step 4:
Using 2400mm pre-made Merbau slab from Bunnings; build, fit and seal for the
benchtop. Use off cut for shelves.
- Step 5:
Paint timber frame using Dulux Vivid White Semi-Gloss and fit the white Kaboodle cabinet doors.
- Step 6:
Prep for tiling (re-purposed tiles from previous Reno) using Bunnings outdoor vacuum plus
all Bunnings tiling products including concrete fillers, tile glue, grout, trough, knee pads, buckets and sponges
- Step 7:
Re-purposed toilet plumbed in then added in all Bunnings Matt Black accessories including black round mirror, black towel hooks, black shelving brackets, black toilet roll holder, black toilet brush, basket water hyacinth
