The project:
My family were coming to visit and I wanted to have more outdoor seating to comfortably fit them all. I searched online for something reasonable that I liked and couldn't quite find what I wanted. So I remembered that I like to be creative and that I had access to old pallets, and I made exactly what I wanted.
- Materials:
-old pallets
-screws (lots)
-exterior timber paint
-a bit of sheer determination
- Tools:
-ryobi drill
-saw
-makita sander
-hammer
- Step 1:
Put boyfriend to work to help me collect old pallets and take them into the back yard.
- Step 2:
Cut pallets to size with a hand saw and iffy eye measuring. Make sure they line up when stacked on top of one another and stabilise with spare pallet pieces and screws. Create back rests with spare pallet pieces and screws.
- Step 3:
sand pallets (a lot) with makita sander
- Step 4:
Paint with exterior timer prep and paint x 2 coats
- Step 5:
Run and impulsively buy exterior couch cushions because you've already come this far.
- Step 6:
walah! Enjoy a beer on new couches!
