4WD canopy with storage drawers

The project:

we diy our 4wd canopy to take on us for large trips around Australia. After multiple trips to bunnings we pulled together the false floor, walls, drawers and counter as well as carpeting the whole thing. It works amazing and has held up for coming up to 4 years!

- Materials:

plywood, kwik grip glue, marine carpet, silicone, all sorts of screws and bolts, hinges, rivets, drawer slides, containers, bungee cord, aluminium edging, hooks, timber and much more!

- Tools:

drill, circular saw, paint brush, sander, rivet gun

- Step 1:

measure and cut wood to fit size.

Carpet wood

Screw together to create system.

Put together drawers.

Piece together

This tool is months to compete - very difficult project!

What an impressive project. Building a custom canopy fit-out that has lasted nearly four years of travelling is a real achievement. It is clear a lot of planning and hard work went into creating a storage system that is both practical and durable.

Thanks for sharing the materials and the build process. I'm sure it will inspire other community members who are thinking about creating their own touring setup.
