The project:
Modernised outdoor space and created a bar nook for all year round outdoor enjoyment.
- Materials:
monument paint, pine framing, outdoor timber slats for screen cut to size. Orbital sander pads to strip back timber window frames for painting. Black paint for woodwork. Stone sheet mosaic tiles for bbq nook. Tile glue, Grout for tiles, sealer for tiles. Round concrete paver for bar table top. Black outdoor ceiling fans. Outdoor pendant light over bar table.
- Tools:
Pine framing and individual slats for corner screen cut to size onsite at Bunnings. Hand saw for post.
Render paint rollers, paint brushes, hammer and nails, for vertical slats. Trowel and sponge for tiling. Orbital sander for all woodwork.
- Step 1:
sand back all timber posts and window frames to remove old paint.
- Step 2:
using a cutting brush cut in all areas of render in monument paint. Use render roller to complete the entire surface.
- Step 3:
add extra 100mm timber post for timber screen to frame out.
- Step 4:
frame out corner bar area and paint all wood work in black including window frames.
- Step 5:
attach vertical slats to frame and paint black
- Step 6:
Clean down wall and stick mosaic wall tiles, grout and seal
- Step 7:
attach round concrete paver to bar table leg using liquid nails
