The project:

We wanted to add a bit of character and create a focal point in our living room. Prior to this transformation, this was a long, blank wall that felt unfinished. By incorporating texture, contrast and a custom feature wall, we’ve created a space that feels warm and inviting.

Paint Brushes, Roller

- Step 1:

After measuring and marking the wall, we began installing the frame that would form the structure of the media wall. This set the layout and dimensions. We ensured we measured the fireplace and TV to ensure there was enough space in the framing.

- Step 2:

Once framing was complete, we added gyprock sheeting followed by joint compound.

We then sealed the wall with 4 in 1 Prep Sealer.

All products purchased from Bunnings.

- Step 3:

We then began the paint process, We wanted a concrete look.

We used the Dulux Design Concrete effect paint

This required three coats and a steal trowel to achieve the concrete look.

- Step 4:

We added tongue and groove pine panelling to one side and primed MDF boards to the other side to achieve a geometric design

We then added black Matte Paint

The completed project included the Scandia 50" Aurora Electric Fire available to purchase from Bunnings.
