Main bedroom makeover with Pine feature wall

The project:

We wanted to transform our bedroom from bland too moody by using deep colours. See before photo…

- Materials:

dulux “Amazon depths” to walls, black ace to architraves and doors. Pine for wall feature behind bed. Pendant lights

- Tools:

saw for timber panels, paint rollers and brushes for cutting

- Step 1:

wash down walls and prep for painting. Lightly sand the skirting and doors

- Step 2:

measure height of wall panels and cut to length. Apply liquid nails and some thin nails to hold in place

- Step 3:

fill any gaps with putty, sand and paint

- Step 4:

tape up windows and paint. We used waterbased acrylic black ace

- Step 5:

Pendant lights hung above bedside tables purchased from Eglo

- Step 6:

we also added black rod with sheer linen curtains for a soft texture look

- Step 7:

Welcome to the Bunnings workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your main bedroom makeover.

The finished room looks very inviting, the olive-green walls add depth without making the space feel small, while the black panelling and trim give it a custom, high-end look. The warm tan bench, earthy bedding and soft rug balance the darker colours beautifully, making the room feel comfy rather than heavy. It has a boutique hotel vibe while still feeling comfortable and relaxing.
