The project:

Custom built garden Office with infra red sauna. Built on a sloping site with a raised floor and insulated stud walls with skiillion roof. Colourbond to 3 sides with merbau decking facade. Lined internally with plywood and sealed.

- Materials:

90x35 structural pine for walls

Soundpróof batts for floor, walls and ceiling

140x45 structural pine for base and roof

12mm ply for wall and ceiling lining

- Tools:

Drill and bits

Framing nail gun

Hammer

Circular Saw

Grinder with cutting dial

Hand tools (screwdrivers, etc.)

Impact drill

Sander

- Step 1:

Construct raised base, concrete in posts, assemble joists, install insulation and screw down floor.

- Step 2:

Construct stud walls and roof frame.

- Step 3:

Line outer walls and roof with colourbond

- Step 4:

Fit merbau decking to front fascia

- Step 5:

Install insulation to walls and ceiling

- Step 6:

First fix electrics

- Step 7:

Fit window and sliding door

- Step 8:

Line walls and ceiling

- Step 9:

Second fix electrics and fit heat pump

- Step 10:

Seal internal walls

This is an impressive build. The raised base, insulated walls and ceiling, and careful planning around the sloped site have created a really well-considered space.

The combination of Colorbond, Merbau decking and plywood lining gives it a great balance of durability and warmth. Adding the sauna is a fantastic feature too. Great work on such a detailed project!
