Boxed out media wall with fireplace

The project:

We removed our old fireplace and replaced it with a three-sided electric fireplace. To achieve the look we wanted, we built a DYI feature wall with a recessed space for the TV. To create a warm and cosy feel, we finished the base with a timber panel. A lot of work has gone into the design and execution.

- Materials:

timber, screws, skirting boards, paint, timber panel, giprock, from Bunnings, electric Fireplace from “Fireplaces WA”

- Tools:

saw, hammer, drills, nail gun

- Step 1:

design, sourcing fireplace and materials, lots of trial and error until we got to the final design

The media wall looks fantastic and I'm sure it's a great centrepiece for the room. The recessed TV, three-sided fireplace and timber panel finish work together to create a warm and modern feature.

Great work on the design and execution, especially with all the planning and trial and error involved to get the final result.
