Faux whitewash brick rustic kitchen wallpaper

The project:

The project was to create a whitewashed rustic cavity brick look, for my over 3 meter, kitchen wall area, in my "to lockup stage", new build 2-storey tiny home. STEP 1. Insulate the entire kitchen wall area, using insulation products, sourced from Bunnings. STEP 2. was using craft board as lining, backing material. STEP 3. I sourced a faux 3D whitewashed rustic brick look wallpaper. STEP 4. I sourced from Bunnings the wallpaper paste, and used a tall ladder to reach the ceiling line for many sections of meticulously matched up, pasted and squeegeed wallpaper.

- Materials:

1. Foilboard Green 10 2400 x 1200 (mm) Wall Insulation 2. Foilboard Silver Tape 48mm x 50mtr 3. Ametalin1350mm x 10mtr SilverWrap LD Reflective Wall Insulation 4. Zenith 8G x 30mm Gold Passivated Button Head Timber Screws (to fix the craftboard) 5. Super Fresco Easy Wallpaper Paste

- Tools:

1. Battery operated drill, for fixing the timber screws, for the craftboard installation

2. Stanley knife and scissors for cutting the Foilboard and Ametalin insulation products, and also the Foilboard Silver Tape

3. Large ladder to hang the wallpaper, especially the high ceiling

4. Metal 5 mtr tape measure, plus carpenters pencil

5. Plastic bucket to mix the wallpaper paste, and 2 x Uni-Pro Heavy Duty Twin Microfibre Roller Kits, to apply the paste to the wallpaper sections

6. Clean Vileda 8-Pack Microfibre Cleaning Cloths, to squeegee down the pasted and applied wallpaper, plus for a general cleanup when all completed

- Step 1:

STEP 1 was to insulate the entire kitchen wall area, using 3 different insulation products, sourced from Bunnings

- Step 2:

STEP 2 was using craftboard as lining, backing material.

- Step 3:

STEP 3 was sourcing a Faux 3D Whitewashed Rustic Brick Look Wallpaper. Then to make sure i had all the necessary other wallpaper application items, plus the various tools for the job.

- Step 4:

STEP 4 was a correct size varnished timber piece, installed, and to cover a section above the kitchen bi-fold windows.

Then adding a timber look venetian blind, for the bi-fold windows, to complete the project.

This is a very creative way to add character to the kitchen. The faux brick wallpaper has created a great rustic feature wall, and the extra effort put into insulating, lining the wall and carefully matching the wallpaper pattern really shows.

The timber finishing touches and blind work well with the brick effect, giving the space a warm and cohesive look.
