The project:
my old 1980’s green and brown laundry was not cutting it anymore. Committed to doing everything (possible) myself including, stripping, screeding, tiling, installation of cabinets, painting, splash back and installing washer dryer combo…
- Materials:
easy screed, floor leveller, all the tiles, grout, wooden skirting, kaboodle cabinets, paint, silicones, selleys gyprock skim, light, tapware, floor drain cover
All from Bunnings
- Tools:
saw, jigsaw, grinders, drills, all painting gear, cement mixer, all tiling equipment.
- Step 1:
demolish existing laundry
Level and screed floor for tiling (my first try) but ended up ok
- Step 2:
measure and order kaboodle cabinets from mirrabooka Bunnings.
Sort out electrical and plumbing (done by tradesman)
- Step 3:
tile and grout floor.
- Step 4:
put together and install kaboodle cabinets, bench top… cutout sink and connect tap to plumbing.
measure and order splashback from Bunnings Bayswater
- Step 5:
cut and install skirting and sink into bench top.
- Step 6:
Cut and install acrylic splashback.
silicone and paint rest of room.
