Kitchen renovation with large island bench

The project:

Full kitchen renovation. My wife an I did everything apart from the stuff we are legally not allowed to do (plumbing, electricity etc). All timber sourced from Bunnings including sheets of melamine from which we made all the shelving.

- Materials:

90x35mm Pine framing
|450 and 600mm sheets of melamine
Bench tops Cupboard carcases, doors and accessories (handles, shelving etc.
Plaster sheeting (we did not do the cornices)
Paint, Attic ladder, sinks, taps etc

- Tools:

This household is powered by Makita, two brushless drills, impact driver, Paslode framing gun and bradder, Makita sander, Makita planer, Makita cordless saw, Makita recip saw, stacks of nails and screws all from Bunnings . Many sausages in bread, :-)

- Step 1:

Frame wall
Sparky and plumber come
Construct shelving (many many nights of work)
Assemble carcases
Put all in situ and Secure
Paint and trip with bunnings mouldings
Install goddess

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thanks you for sharing your kitchen renovation.

What a wonderful transformation! It's a very effective use of the available space in your home. The walk-in pantry is just superb, and the custom-built shelving keeps everything organized. All that extra benchtop space inside has allowed you to park all of your other appliances inside instead of being scattered outside. This keeps your main kitchen free of clutter.
