The project:
I have been a single parent to 3 kids for 13 years now. I bought my old, little house about 7 years ago. I have spent a lot of time and effort on improving the house so my kids can be proud of the place they call home.
- Materials:
Wow, where do I begin; Taubmans interior wall paint, Taubmans sunroof exterior paint, screen up system and decking, tongue and groove, vinyl flooring glue, delux renovation range products for kitchen, garden screens, LOTS of a various sized treated pine timber, white quad, many many plants, 300mm square pavers, meters of white skirting board.
- Tools:
Ozito drill driver, ozito multitool, ozito circular saw, ozito line trimmer, ozito angle grinder, ozito blower, ozito detail sander, ozito compound mitre saw, ozito paint spray gun, ozito hedge trimmer. Paintbrushes etc all from bunnings.
- Step 1:
I began with the exterior of the house, sanding, filling, and preparing surfaces. Painted in various colours using taubmans sunroof exterior paint. Demolished existing screening, structures and surfaces in front and back yard. Built screens, designed and painted pergola and built serving bench. Painted all exterior fences using spray gun.
- Step 2:
Pulled out existing garden plants, redesigned garden, planted new plants.
- Step 3:
Prepared and painted all interior walls and door frames. Pulled up old carpet in hallway and loungeroom. Pulled down interior glass sliding doors to open living space. Prepared ground surface and applied flooring glue. Laid 80 square metres of vinyl plank flooring and put in new skirting boards.
- Step 4:
Removed kitchen cupboards, cleaned, lightly sanded all doors. Painted with renovation range primer, colour and clear coat.
- Step 5:
Attached screen up system on verandah using srews/plugs. Measured and cut decking using mitre saw, painted using spray gun. Slot decking into screen system.
