The project:
We wanted to turn a boring, outdated bedroom with big heavy furniture that looked cramped into a light, coastal, peaceful space.
- Materials:
We used Specrite Hevea multi use panels, Hevea acoustic panels, MDF primed lining easy reg, H3 treated structural pine, Selleys liquid nails, Ramset wall plugs, paint brushes, verve Ariana bamboo pendant lights, ryobi trimmer/router, Cabot’s clear coat, paint & nails.
- Tools:
ryobi nail gun, trimmer, router, ozito vacuum, ozito mitre saw, ryobi cordless drills, impact driver & hammer drill, ozito multi tool
- Step 1:
build mantle frame across full room width (completed electrical first fix - by qualified electrician)
- Step 2:
cut specrite panels to construct bedside floating tables & clear coat
- Step 3:
cut MDF v-board to size & attach to top section of the wall
- Step 4:
trim skirting boards to ensure end-to/-end coverage.
- Step 5:
carefully cut acoustic panels to size & attach to wall frame
- Step 6:
Mount floating bedsides
- Step 7:
No more gaps and paint v-board
- Step 8:
cut hevea panel & construct mantle. Add profile with trimmer / router & clear coat. Attach to wall frame above acoustic panels
- Step 9:
2nd electrical on bedsides & installed hanging lights
- Step 10:
Move in
