The project:
Our kitchen was partly demolished/incomplete when we moved in, the whole L shaped part was bare. We found cabinets secondhand that matched our existing cabinets (the cabinets under the windows) but were different wood finishes so with the help of some paint we painted them and gave them a glow up with new handles, Bunnings wooden bench tops and completed the tiling too to just give it that finished look!

- Step 1:
Layed the flooring and then worked out the layout of where we wanted the cabinets to go and attached them to the walls
- Step 2:
cleaned down the surfaces with soapy water and sanded the doors ready for paint
- Step 3:
used the Wagner spray gun to prime and spray the doors in dulux aqua enamel
- Step 4:
reassembled cabinets and added handles to the doors and drawers
- Step 5:
cut timber benches to size and used the off cuts to create shelves between the upper cabinets. Stained them and sealed with a kitchen grade protectant
- Step 6:
tiled the splash back and in between the shelves to give it a high end finish
- Step 7:
grouted the tiles in white to give it a seamless look
- Step 8:
painted the existing cabinets to match the new cabinets added
- Step 9:
added some styling pieces and looked back at all the hard work I’d done to create the farmhouse kitchen of my dreams
just need to add some base board trims to complete it!
