Deck rebuild with Ekodeck composite panels

The project:

it all started Christmas Day at my aunties where we had a beautiful lunch out on her deck that had many areas with caution not to walk and many temp patch work fixes. She was a single mum in her 60’s has always worked hard and gave to us all she mentioned one day when she could save she would love to fix the deck and have a place to entertain and sit and enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beer after work. Boxing Day we woke up and dad mum and I hit her with the news we are giving you your new deck today off to Bunnings we went shopping and got all the supplies we needed hired a Ute and work began by boxing night aunty had her dream become a reality

- Tools:

drill

screwdriver

Nails

- Step 1:

remove old deck

- Step 2:

Renew bearers and Joyce make sure there level and rein forced

- Step 3:

lay the new deck screw into place one by one then cut of the over hang

- Step 4:

Insert and screw in to place the end capping boards job is complete

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

What a thoughtful gift for your aunty. Rebuilding the deck as a family and giving her a safe, comfortable space to relax and entertain must have made for a very memorable Boxing Day.

The new Ekodeck boards look fantastic, and renewing and reinforcing the framing underneath was an important part of making sure the finished deck was solid and level.
