Firewood shed using recycled materials

The project:

Made this firewood shelter to store wood over winter. Made from 100% recycled housing and fencing hardwood, and old corrugated iron sheets. Made possible by Bunnings specialised hardwood screws and my trusty Ryobi 18V ONE+ gear.

- Step 1:

• source timber and corrugated iron
• Estimate size based on annual firewood needs
• Draw up plans to scale on paper
• Measure and cut frame
• Pre-drill and screw frame together
• Pre-drill and screw fence posts
• Pre-drill and screw roofing sheets

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

I really love this project. It is simple and functional, but has a real charm to it. The recycled timber and slightly rusted corrugated iron give it a real rustic look, while still looking really sturdy and fit for purpose.

I imagine now that it is winter, it is really proving its worth when it comes time to light the fire. There's nothing worse than trying to light a fire with damp firewood.
