How to fix washing machine & dishwasher backflow?

Hi, I have a question about my laundry sink plumbing.

At the moment, both my washing machine and dishwasher drain hoses go upwards before connecting to the drain. Recently I’ve noticed water backing up, and there is always water sitting inside the drain hose. That’s when I found out the drain should ideally go downwards into the trap rather than up.

I’m thinking about replacing my current trap with the Holman 40mm P-Trap with Twin Appliance Nozzles (shown in the second photo).

Would this solve my backflow and standing water problem?

Is this trap suitable for connecting both a washing machine and a dishwasher?

Also, is there anything else I should be aware of, or any additional parts I need to buy (such as hose clamps, adaptors, fittings, or seals)?
