The project:
our pantry was a disaster… food was piled in, we had no idea what was in there, it looked terrible and wasn’t working for us so I pulled it all out and went to Bunnings. First stop was the tool shop because I had nothing but basics and knew I needed something better so invested in the Makita tool set. Everything was purchased from Bunnings, putty, screws, paint, brushes, wood, shelves, bench top… it was so easy to get everything I needed even if that meant going every day for 6 days 😆. Right at the end I realised the plain doors I bought didn’t match my existing Kaboodle country style doors so my husband got his new tools and cut panels into the door to look like the country style. I love it!
- Materials:
kaboodle base cabinet, antique white doors, black Taskmaster handles
Hevea kitchen bench top
Specrite Hevea wood for shelves with Carinya heavy duty black shelf brackets with matching black screws
Dulux tranquil retreat paint
- Tools:
Makita brushless 10 piece tool set
- Step 1:
removed everything from pantry, puttied up old screw holes and painted with Dulux tranquil retreat grey paint
- Step 2:
built and installed base cabinet including legs
- Step 3:
cut Hevea bench top and oiled with kitchen grade Cabot’s oil
- Step 4:
installed kitchen doors and taskmaster handles
- Step 5:
measured shelf placement and installed Carinya brackets
- Step 6:
cut Hevea to size for shelves and screwed down with matching black screws
- Step 7:
back to Bunnings for some storage options
