The project:
we have an old house that needed a modern but classy touch . After throwing ideas around for ages I came across the panels at Bunnings I knew wat I wanted . They r very easy to use , we screwed black screws straight onto the wall through part with black part so they can’t be seen . Looks so effective.
4 panels on the wall @ $99each with some left over for another project in our room .
The floating shelf cost around $80 in materials & because I have a very cleaver partner that’s wat he came up with for my birthday.
The entire project was about $500 but looks a million if u ask me. I absolutely love it 👍

- Materials:
4 wall panels @ 900 cm each
Black headed screws
Small amount of glue
Pine for shelf
clear stain for floating shelf
- Tools:
Used all Ryobi tools from Bunnings
table saw ,
Drill
Sander
Circular saw
clamps
Tap measure
- Step 1:
1- firstly measure height & length of wall to estimate amount needed .
2- Purchase panels from Bunnings then cut panels to fit .
3- Add glue to wall then place panels on the wall . They have a foam backing for easy use .They also lock in place so it’s easy to attach them . 4
4- Once all are in place use screws between the timber so can’t be seen . Use approx 10 per panel & use sporadically.
Leave for 12 hours to dry
5- Design yr shelf
the length of the shelf is personal choice but we chose full length to balance it out .
cut timber to desired length clamp it together then glue & screw . To attach the unit to the wall use a block timber screwed to it then glue & screw onto it .
we gave ours a light sand & stain .
