The project:
This side of our yard was hard compacted road base. It was uninspiring and not used except to store wheely bins. I found some pavers at Bunnings and that started the plan to rejuvenate our yard.
- Materials:
Grey slate stepping pavers
Beautiful plants from Virginia and Carseldine Bunnings garden section
Gardena retractable hose reel
Centenary landscaping supplied the bark and soil
We buy all our garden tools from Bunnings
- Tools:
Sherlock wheelbarrow purchased from Bunnings to spread the soil and bark
Shovels, rake, hand trowel and of course gardening gloves
- Step 1:
The ground was hard compacted road base so it was cultivated with a hoe and soil was mixed in to make it fertile.
- Step 2:
pavers were spaced out and more soil added around them
Existing plants were removed as they were mostly agave plants
- Step 3:
The plants were bought gradually to help with the budget and added to the garden. Bulk mulch/bark was then added to prevent weeds
- Step 4:
The water tank was added as well as Gardena retractable hose reel. Some garden art made by my husband was added to the fence and an old gate had some air plants added to jazz it up.
- Step 5:
Every week I go to Bunnings and buy a new plant for this garden or other gardens. It’s my guilty pleasure. I love the garden section, it’s relaxing!
