The project:
I was wanting a coffee table that matched the vibe of my house but also wanted to combine different textures! I'd checked online and haven't found anything like this.
- Materials:
- Dowel 12mm
- Pre finished white board
- Plinth from kmart
- Liquid nails
- White Grout
- Grout sealer
- Clear lacquer
- Trowel
- Tools:
- Drop saw
- Caulking gun
- Sander
- Jigsaw
- Step 1:
Use the jigsaw to cut your desired coffee table shape from the white pre finished board
Sand the edges with some sand paper or an electric sander
- Step 2:
Use the drop saw to cut down the lengths of dowel (note-the amount required depends on the size circular Plinth you will be covering)
Once these are cut down, use the liquid nails to glue each of them the down around the plinth
- Step 3:
Apply the white Grout to the coffee table top using the Trowel trying to make an even layer and add texture
Once the Grout it dry, apply a clear Grout sealer
- Step 4:
Use liquid nails to glue the top of the coffee table to the base.
Finish off the timber dowel with either a clear lacquer (which is what I used) or your desired stain colour and enjoyyy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
