The project:
I’ve built an outdoor shower from the ground up with absolutely everything from Bunnings except two items, that being the tiles and shower head only but absolutely everything else was from Bunnings.
With no doors, a maze like entrance for privacy, hot and cold water in the front yard so no sand comes in.
- Materials:
Everything, from………
Posts and primers, post diggers, concrete, sprit levels, string line, screws (1,000’s) eckodecking (privacy screening), paints, spacers, packers and so much more.
- Tools:
post digger
Spirit levels (assorted)
Shovel
Drill
Saw
Drill (flexible extender)
Sea saws
- Step 1:
Had hot and cold water outlets out on the side of the house in build and then got them brought out to the front yard.
Measured, shovelled, levelled, dug out holes for support beams and then concreted in.
painted on a bitumen like protectant for moisture resistance.
- Step 2:
Finished all posts, repainted, boxes, withpre plastic and rio mesh prior to concreting and having ready for tiler
- Step 3:
tiling completed
- Step 4:
Using echo decking from Bunnings, I measured, cut and installed these privacy screens.
- Step 5:
street view of progress of outdoor shower
- Step 6:
Finished all privacy screens (except anther showed head wall to cover all bracing and pipes) including height extension, braced all privacy screening with echo decking strips, pre braced the shower head wall for shower head mounting.
- Step 7:
Finished internal screening to hide all piping for the shower head wall.
- Step 8:
shower head Installed.
- Step 9:
Finally! The finished product! Exactly what I envisioned and absolutely love the final product and was worth all the hours and effort.
Thanks to Bunnings with descriptive information, helpful assistants at the stores as I wouldn’t have made it with out there help.
Years of a sand free home to come!
