The project:
We purchased our house in June and straight of the bat, the wife didn’t like the kitchen. The task was to remove a 80’s style kitchen and install a modern one. We put together our own design and approached Bunnings to to help us put the design on paper using Kaboodle Flat Pack. With their assistance we achieved our design with a few small cupboard size changes. Kaboodle kitchen ordered.
- Materials:
To complete this project we used the following; Kaboodle flat pack kitchen, with our colour choice.
Mistral 900mm curved glass range hood
Farmhouse double sink with s/s protector grids
Brushed nickel handles for cupboards and doors
Easy Craft VJ board, primed mdf, used as backing
Hybrid rubber backed floating floor boards
Carrara lux stone bench tops
Electric wall oven with griller, gas hot plates
Subway tiles, tap ware, down lights
- Tools:
Initially, to removed the old kitchen I just used a jimmy bar and cordless impact driver with a PH2 screw driver bit. Other tool used later;
Rotary hammer drill to remove old floor tiles
2 x shifters to do plumbing for dishwasher and sink
Copper pipe cutter and bender
Spirit level, is a must have
Tape measure, also a must have
Hammer and a set square
- Step 1:
Firstly, demo the old kitchen
2: Measure up, design and order new kitchen and appliances
3: Remove old floor tiles and tile glue
4: Have power, water pipes and gas relocated to suit new design
5: Painted ceilings and exposed walls and installed down lights
6: Put together and installed new kitchen
7: Installed sink and appliances
8: Had stone bench tops fitted
9: Tiled splash backs with subway tiles
10: Layed floating floor boards and trimmings
