How to fix shower screen water leaks?

Hello Bunnings Community,

I need some help to fix water leaks in bathroom shower screen and washing machine.

For the shower screen, there are two gaps that I need to fill. The first gap is shown in the first two attached photos. It seems to me that the shower door seal is not fitted properly that creates a gap between the door and the hob. How do I seal it properly?

The second leaks is shown in the third and fourth photos. It shows the inside and outside of the same spot where water is leaking from. I am not sure how do I repair this to stop the leak.

For the washing machine, it is leaking from the drain hose where it connects to the p-trap. The rubber end on the drain hose has threads and I screwed it onto the plastic hose. The clamp and the rubber are both hand tightened. However, when the washing machine is draining, water leaks from where the rubber end connects with the hose. And the water leaks more vigorously if I tighten or loosen it more. The best I can achieve is making it leak in droplets. Are there ways to make this end watertight?

With regard to the door seal, This is a moulding with a U shaped channel which is just pushed on to the bottom of the glass, try pushing it down as much as needed (If it comes off, it can just be pushed back on). If it comes off before sealing the gap, the door may be mounted too high and you would probably need a professional to fix it. With regar to the other shower leaks, you need to clean out the old silicone and reseal it all with new silicone.

Finally the hose on the washer, you could try PTFE thread seal tape, it's cheap and means you can remove it if needed but if all else fails, silicone in the threads then screw it on and leave it to dry

Please note that plumbing work needs to be completed by a licensed professional for safety and compliance.

In the first photo it appears that the shower door drip seal is not long enough. I suggest taking the small portion of the seal near the pivot hinge and bringing it with you to the store and compare it to the spare sets available. Your main goal is to choose a taller seal that will guide the water into the hob instead of into the gap.

In the second photo, it looks like the silicone sealant has failed near the grout and no seal; was actually applied inside the shower frame. I propose removing the old silicone sealers with a silicone removal tool such as the

. Once the surface is totally clean, I suggest applying a new bead of silicone on the surface.

In regard to the washing machine hose leak, it appears that you have carried out some basic trouble shooting steps. Any changes that involve moving or reconfiguring pipework would be considered regulated plumbing work and would need to be carried out by a licensed plumber. I recommend engaging the services of a plumber to fix your washing machine hose leak.
