The project:
full bathroom renovation. We tiled over tile a lot of prep was needed to execute this work. We used 1200x600 tiles on the walls as well as mosaic feature wall. All tiles need to be grinded first to remove any gloss.

- Tools:
all tiles were cut with an angle grinder and boar diamond grinder blades
- Step 1:
1.We had to grind all tiles of gloss first as we tiled over tile. All tiles were then cleaned step 2
- Step 2:
used primer on clean tiles
- Step 3:
used mastic tile adhesive for our 450 x 450 floor tiles and had tile trim placed at entrance
- Step 4:
cleaned tiles then grouted
- Step 5:
Once the floor was completed we proceed to the walls we used primer on all wall tiles
- Step 6:
used tile adhesive starting from floor upwards. As we used large tiles we only did one row at a time. Placed hold brackets in place for tile and then once the adhesive was set we would do the next row up and so on.
- Step 7:
once we did all the floors and walls we started our mosaic wall. Same progress as above, we made sure we used a tile adhesive for mosaic tiles. Which all can be purchased from Bunnings as we were DIY we got assistance from the staff in what would be the be products to use as we were tiling over tile. A must is if you do this is the surface must have no gloss on the tiles must be clean and primed for the tile to adhere to. The tiles must be in good condition to tile over tile and must be no issues with the original tiles.
