The project:

When we bought this home this was a big ugly rusted piece in the room..….look at me now 🤩

- Materials:

Light sand paper, sugar soap wipes and a specific fire place spray paint.

- Tools:

Just elbow greece 🤪

- Step 1:

A light sand down, a good wipe over with sugar soap, then 3 coats paint. Waited a couple of days before lighting up again.

What a difference a few coats of paint can make. It's amazing how you've transformed what was once a rusty old fireplace into a real feature of the room. It just goes to show that you don't always need a major renovation to make a big impact.

Do you happen to have a before photo of the fireplace? I'm sure our members would love to see just how dramatic the transformation was.

Just a quick safety note for anyone inspired to try something similar: always use a paint specifically designed for high-temperature applications and check your fireplace manufacturer's recommendations before painting, as not all finishes are suitable for the heat generated by fireplaces.
