The project:
remove old bamboo garden bed and completely rebuild the area as a pizza oven. This included reinforced concrete foundations, core filled block work, tile slab topper to setup the base of the oven.. then building the oven with rectified bricks, insulation, chicken wire concrete. Topped off with tile and grout coverage. Finished off with garden lights and fence toppers for privacy.

- Step 1:
flatten the area and dig the footings for the base. Box up the area for the concrete and steel trench reinforcing.
Mix and pour the cement
- Step 2:
Lay the block out ensuring that it’s level and straight with multiples.
Then core fill the blocks with concrete
- Step 3:
install galvanised supports on top of the block work. I used a retaining wall support which works best and cut this into the block work.
- Step 4:
ensure the tiles are placed on top of the block in all areas.
place the insulation on top of the tiles and fireproof bricks on top of the insulation.
- Step 5:
place the oven shell into position. (I use a kit for a third-party for the actual oven) install insulation and wrap with chicken wire.
- Step 6:
place pizza oven into position then cement and cover the entire area of the oven trying to maintain a smooth.
- Step 7:
Workout the tile pattern you want then cover the entire dome with the hexagonal tiles. Once dry you grout the tiles. This will take a long time with all the cutting that’s needed.
Don’t forget the pavers underneath that fills in the blanks of the dirt base
- Step 8:
finish off with installing fence toppers for more privacy and had fairy lights for a festive feel.
