The project:
We had a shelter by the pool and I always said to the wife we could make so much more use of this space. So I did. Couldn’t afford the quotes we got so I thought Why not, I’ll try it myself and I did. Made a few mistakes But I’ll do it better next time. Next time I’ll get the advice from the Bunnings crew first then I’ll save some time and effort. We love it and I watch what I want outside on the big screen while I’m in charge of the bar-b-que. And the wife’s happy with that 👍🏼

- Step 1:
The very first thing I did was to get some quotes from local builders to see if I could afford our ideas.(I was blown away)
So to start with I did some You Tubing to get the basic tips for basic setting up and construction. I also did some goggling to get some of the standard regulations and sizes. After watching You Tube,Kaboodle web site and the Bunnings web sites I thought Yep I can give that a go 🤞🏼
Next step was to measure up and work out Kaboodle Kitchen design and prices, building material costs which I did on-line and in store at Maroochy’ Bunnings with the Design Team Member
Most importantly (I learnt from Bunnings Yard Staff) was to measure 3x’s, Stick as close as you can to standard size material and products and prevent cutting off excess and reducing waste and costs
- Step 2:
If it’s your first project or attempt take your time, plan the project step by step in the order things need to be done. Watch the videos or ask for the advice from the Bunnings crew and go goggling. Buy your materials as needed and where and when required get some help from your mate (the wife 🤞🏼) and remember measure everything 3x before you start cutting.
- Step 3:
You’ll learn as you progress and you’ll figure out pretty quickly from the little mistakes you might make as you go.
Maybe if you’re not comfortable do a small job first before you tackle the big one.
