Walk-in pantry makeover creating bench space

The project:

Hated the open shelving in my walk in pantry so decided to create extra bench space for air fryer and coffee machine, food and appliance storage and a wine rack cos, well why not!

Stud Adhesive, cornice cement, base coat, top coat, paint, tile adhesive, grout, edge trim, caulk/seal all purchased from bunnings. From start to finish, everything bought from Bunnings!

Hammer, circular saw, drill, impact driver, stanley knife, level, grinder, tape measure, plaster saw, saw horses.

- Step 1:

Frame bulk head, install and stop up plaster, demo shelving. Ducted air con return air was in the way of bulk head so had to install a smaller return air grille with the help of my AC guy.

- Step 2:

Paint walls, build and install cabinetry carcuss.

- Step 3:

Cut and install benchtop, cabinet doors and handles, trim around sides or cabinetry, rough in power points and LED strip (I am an electrician)

- Step 4:

Tile splashback, grout tiles, caulk around cabinetry, install cornice, install power points and LED strip light.

- Step 5:

Finishing touches, clean up, touch up paint, paint cornice, install quad on floor around cabinetry, put everything away in cupboards and enjoy!

What a fantastic transformation! You've turned your walk-in pantry into a space that's not only beautifully organised but also incredibly practical for everyday living. The addition of the benchtop creates the perfect home for the coffee machine and air fryer, while the extra cabinetry keeps everything neatly tucked away and easy to access. The wine rack is a wonderful finishing touch that adds a bit of personality, and the combination of the timber benchtop, tiled splashback and clean cabinetry gives the whole space a modern, welcoming feel. It's a clever makeover that makes the pantry work so much harder while looking absolutely fantastic.
