The project:
Our front yard garden strip was overgrown with succulents and had a dated shabby look. Using rust metal garden edging and landscape rings, I created a contemporary garden composition that feels intentional and has more visual interest.

- Step 1:
Cleared the area from overgrown succulents (kept for replanting). Collected all the pebbles into buckets to reuse later.
- Step 2:
Using an axe carefully broken down old brick edging and replaced it with Tuscan Path Flat Rust Metal Garden Edging.
- Step 3:
Removed rotten timber garden bed around aloe that I decided to keep, and replaced it with 900mm oxyshield podium landscape ring. Adjusted the ring using the level and filled empty areas with pebbles and soil to secure the ring in place.
- Step 4:
Arranged the other 2 oxyshield podiums next to each other and filled them with bricks, pebbles and soil. Planted mix of old and new succulents. Decorated with pink pebbles.
- Step 5:
To make sure I have access to succulents, so I can prune them without damaging the garden strip, I decided to place 2 x stepping stones next to the podiums.
- Step 6:
At the end I planted the rest of the plants and various grasses and added a layer of new soil and mulch.
