The project:
This mud room space was created as storage to hide away those messy items we discard everywhere when arriving home. Keys are hung on the shelf pegs, wallet on top alongside decorative items and bags and hats hanging. Shoes are tucked away in the Ottoman which doubles as seating.
- Materials:
Black acoustic paneling was applied to a dulux vivid white wall. The panel was measured and cut to size, glued and screwed to the wall. We then secured the shelf to the panel and added decorative along with the storage Ottoman.
- Tools:
Tools used- tape measure, pencil, straight edge, power saw, tec screws and glue.
- Step 1:
Measured the panel to the space.
- Step 2:
Cut the panel to size
- Step 3:
Applied glue to the back of the panel and place on wall
- Step 4:
Screwed the panel to the wall. Applying black tec screws to the black fabric section of the panel. (Not the timber).
- Step 5:
Used spirit level and toggle screws to add the shelf
- Step 6:
In styling, i added decorative items to the top.
- Step 7:
The shelf has room to hang as well as top shelf storage. Hanging gave a tidy area to store keys, hats and hand bags .
- Step 8:
Finally, the storage Ottoman was added to store shoes. The Ottoman also allows to sit while tying shoe laces.
