The project:
Neglected corner of the backyard transformed into a toddler paradise. Designed and drafted in CAD software according to the wife's aesthetic. Many hours spent testing the local playgrounds to see what worked. Hours spent evenings after work and weekends digging and building under foreman toddler supervision. Now we can't get him off it.

- Step 1:
Designed playground using Autodesk Inventor which developed a cut list and site plan including footing layout.
- Step 2:
Site marked out for digging and footings. We managed to construct a new colourbond fence during the design phase. We chose the bottom right corner.
- Step 3:
Start digging. About 4 trailer loads of turf and top soil, back breaking work all shovel and wheel barrow.
- Step 4:
Start structural framing. Cut timber to required lengths and fix with screws. I built floor first then raised it onto posts. Included bracing to prevent toppling over. Used concrete edge to prevent lawn from growing into area, I used soft pour rubber over it to make it safe in case of falls.
- Step 5:
Test it! Then enjoy it. We used it as the main attraction for our son's 2nd birthday.
