The project:
Our kitchen and laundry renovation was inspired by the need to transform two dark, dated spaces into warm, welcoming areas that better reflect our family home and lifestyle. The original rooms featured multiple layers of paint on the cabinetry and even tiles laid over existing tiles, making them well overdue for an update. Living in a peaceful hills setting surrounded by native wildlife, we wanted to create a bright country-inspired space while keeping its natural charm. As first-time renovators, with two children under 2 years old - we knew Kaboodle was the perfect choice—easy to plan, order and install, with plenty of options at a great price. The experience exceeded our expectations, and we’ll definitely choose Kaboodle again!

- Step 1:
We were not only renovating our kitchen and laundry, we were also renewing flooring throughout the house so it was crucial to have a good plan and project management in place in order for all trades and installs to flow seamlessly during the renovation timeline.
We completed all of the tile removal ourselves along with removing the existing cabinetry from the spaces. Our Kaboodle order from Bunnings arrived before estimated date so we were ready to get the project going asap!
- Step 2:
We got started on the laundry waterproofing and floor tiling. We had tiler friends help in this department as we didn't have the skills to complete this work ourselves.
Building and installing each of the drawers required patience and a lot of measuring to ensure everything was lined up with our flooring. As the house was older, the kitchen window sat on a slight angle which required a little improvisation on our end to ensure the bench stop sat in line without any gaps. We used some left over wood cut outs to lift the cabinetry a little higher to even it out.
Once the cabinetry was in we were able to install our handles and give the bench top crew the green flag to come out and complete the final measure for the bench top installation.
While we were waiting for the benchtop to arrive, our flooring was completed around the new kitchen cabinetry. Once the benchtops were installed we called in the plumbing and electrical team to complete the final touches with sinks and appliances.
It all came together perfectly.
