The project:
Our Grandson Jack was a Lego enthusiast and a Harry Potter fan, so we decided to convert our garage into a Lego room for him to be able to sit and complete all of his Lego projects in peace and quiet, and so that he had somewhere to store and keep his finished Lego set safely. So, we first enclosed the outside and lined the inside removed the 2 roller doors and replaced with a sliding door and window. Then we tiled the floor and put up shelves for his Lego. Unfortunately, Jack never got to see his room as he passed away suddenly last year. We have continued with the room and have finished it for Jack and all his Lego.

Garage outer sheeting is Colorbond corrugated sheets
Walls and ceiling are Easycraft paneling
Insulation was Pink Batts
Windows and Doors were from Eurostyle Windows and Doors in Adelaide
Shelving was made from brackets and plywood
Tiles were leftovers from when the house was built

- Step 1:
Enclose the outside of the garage.
We added some additional wooden support columns to be able to fix the Colorbond sheeting to.
Once sheeting was up, we insulated the inside with pink batts and fixed the Easycraft wall paneling with self-tapping screws .
We then painted the walls with Dulux Deep Ocean Colorbond and spray painted some flowers
- Step 2:
Remove Roller Doors and Replace with Sliding Door and Window:
The 2 roller doors were removed and Eurostyle Windows and doors fitted the sliding door and
windows
- Step 3:
Tiling the Floor:
We had to do this part in sections as we still had furniture in the garage that we had to work around. because the tiles were left over from the when the house was built we had to design our own unique pattern.

Ceiling:
We fitted Easycraft ceiling panels to the existing ceiling with self-tapping screw and lots of Liquid nails and then painted it with Dulux Deep Ocean Colorbond to match the Flowered wall
- Step 5:
Fitting out the new Lego and Craft Room:
We built little Kitchen cupboards for our Granddaughter Amelia from offcuts from the Easycraft paneling and bits of left over timber. The top is made from offcuts from another project, glued on and then resined to give a smooth surface.
We painted shelving from Bunnings with Rust-oleum Chalked paint for his Lego displays.
We remodeled old 1960's school desk and chairs. using redwood offcuts, pouring paint and mosaic, with a final coat of resin.
We had an old reclining chair which we glued artificial grass to.

Added the Lego Sets, Craft kits and Sewing Machine:
