Bringing light into a dark home using paint

The project:

after purchasing this home that was filled with decades of wallpaper and had hardly seen and sunlight we knew we had to let it breath.
Removing the wallpaper, sanding the walls and giving it a few coats of Taubmans Elusive White paint definitely did the trick!

- Tools:

We used a paint sprayer from Bunnings to make the job super easy. We painted prior to installing the new flooring eliminating the need to mask or cover the new flooring.

- Step 1:

Remove wallpaper with a steamer hired from bunnings

- Step 2:

Cleaned and filled any nail holes. It was a family affair.

- Step 3:

Masked the windows and sprayed the walls and roof the same colour for a cohesive look.

- Step 4:

Installed the flooring.

Masonite, bond Crete then the floor planks.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

What a difference the lighter colour palette has made. Removing the old wallpaper, repairing the walls and carrying the same soft white across the walls and ceiling has really opened the room up and made it feel much brighter.

Using the sprayer before laying the new flooring was a smart way to simplify the job, and the rustic white planks suit the refreshed space nicely. It’s also great to see the whole family involved in the transformation.
