The project:
I wanted to be able to relax looking at fish in this 3.5m long aquarium. It holds approx 600 litres of water and I will fill it on Sunday after curing time for glass silicone. There will be bog plants in the two top containers that are aquaponic design with bell siphons (natural filter for the aquarium) The central feature is a relaxing water feature seperate from the main aquarium water.
- Materials:
most of the materials come from Bunnings - the travertine marble, bricks, concrete for bottom slab, cement, additives, aluminum for the frame, Cromelins water proofing, Cromlines natural stone sealant for travertine, all pots both at the front (Respect brand) and top troughs (Northcote), Sally’s Glass silicon, plumbing fittings and lots of other bits and pieces. Also bought a Ozitto cement mixer for mixing the concrete.
- Tools:
Ozitto electric cement mixer, trowels, and other sundry tools. Most other tools such as drills levels etc I already had but all bought from Bunnings.
