The project:
Our bedroom window faces out on to a busy common area hallway. As soon as we moved in we knew we needed to add frosted privacy film to the window - this kept light flowing in to the room and gave us the privacy we needed.
Then we installed some modern shutters, replacing the black out roller blind, for when we wanted to shut light out all together. The shutters were inset within the window sill, but had a lot of gaps because of the uneven wall finish.

- Step 1:
Remove old blind and clean the window area thoroughly. Measure the window area and all aspects accurately - then order your shutters and purchase the adhesive film size that will more than cover the area.
- Step 2:
Apply the film as per the application kit instructions. It’s easily adjustable, so long as you use enough liquid applicator. Once it was dried, I used a craft knife to trim some bits that were not flush with the window frame.
- Step 3:
Install shutters as per instructions provided, and use No More Gaps to fill the areas around. Repeat application until desired finish is achieved.
