The project:
Using Bunnings wooden hinged box, air dry clay and craft products I made a dinosaur treasure box.
- Materials:
Wooden craft box, air dry clay, paint brushes, macrami beads, paint, wooden cut out shapes, glue, gesso,
- Tools:
paint brush, sponge brush
- Step 1:
I painted the box with black paint mixed with Gesso. This gave the beads and clay something to stick to. I broke off small pieces of air dry clay and worked them into shapes and let them dry. I then arranged the dried clay parts, wooden cut outs and beads how I wanted them and glued them down with PVC craft glue.
- Step 2:
When dried, I painted everything with black paint before using the small acrylic metallic paints to colour and highlight areas. I then used gold spray paint on a sponge to colour the tips of the dinosaurs eyes.
A quick spray with clear gloss as a sealer, some paint inside and it was finished.
