best way to add a mount plate/bracket for an EV charger to be attached to carport post?

Do you already have the plate and/or the charger? If so, any chance of pictures?
it will be the Tesla wall charger. Looking for any suggestions of how to mount a back plate? Thanks

Is there a specific reason you want to mount this on a plate as the manual shows two centrally located screws, one top and one bottom. so if you mount a plate and try to keep everything central, the screws will go through the plate and then try to go through the post!
Might I suggest something like this….
Enclosure
It would keep things more secure and increase the life of the charger.
