The project:
We transformed our tired, weed-filled front yard into a fresh and inviting entrance, removing the old lawn, laying new Buffalo turf and creating a stylish paved pathway leading to our front door.
- Materials:
- Tools:
- Step 1:
Remove the existing weed-filled lawn and dig out the weeds and unwanted grass, clearing the area back to the soil.
- Step 2:
We levelled and prepared the soil to create a suitable base for the new lawn by spreading Scotts Lawn Builder Organic Lawn Soil Topdress & Underlay over the area with a rake.
- Step 3:
Lay fresh Sir Walter Buffalo turf across the front yard and carefully fitted the edges. Fill in joins with left over Scotts Lawn Builder Organic Lawn Soil Topdress & Underlay.
- Step 4:
Position the pavers where you want the new entry pathway to go. Measure and mark the layout so the pavers are evenly positioned.
- Step 5:
Mark around each paver directly on the new turf, then remove the paver and carefully cut out the turf in its shape.
- Step 6:
Remove enough soil from each cut-out area to allow the paver to sit level with the surrounding lawn. Add Brunnings Landscape Paver Sand and level it out. Tap paver into space with a mallet.
- Step 7:
Water new lawn. We used a soaker hose on a schedule to thoroughly water the new Buffalo turf and help it establish.
