Hallway gallery using acoustic panels

The project:

Our home is a boomerang shape with living in the centre and symmetrical hallways to each end of the house. The hallways are relatively long and lead to the Master suit wing at one end and the guest wing at the other. The aim was to fill the walls with beautiful indigenous art framed between oak acoustic panels and Dulux domino paint as a feature wall whilst the opposite side offers picture windows filtering light and framing the country views of vineyards.

- Materials:

Acoustic panels in oak, black screws, glue

Dulux domino paint

- Tools:

Spirit level, cordless drill and bits, electric saw, tape measure and pencil. Paint brush, roller, masking tape, sandpaper, ladder.

- Step 1:

Sand and prepare wall for painting.

- Step 2:

Cut in around door frames, windows, cornices and skirting.

- Step 3:

Roll domino dulux paint to feature wall. Allow to dry.

- Step 4:

Measure acoustic panels and cut to size.

- Step 5:

Glue panels to wall whilst checking level

- Step 6:

Screws to black fabric sections of panels.

- Step 7:

Hang artwork.

This hallway has been transformed into a beautiful gallery space that feels warm, elegant and full of character. The combination of the oak acoustic panels, Dulux Domino feature walls and carefully chosen Indigenous artwork creates a striking journey through the home, while the picture windows perfectly frame the surrounding vineyard views. Every detail works together to create a truly inviting space.
