The project:

Create family friendly BBQ and play space in hilly, forested area. Excavate rocky hill and remove soil, add brick pillar retaining walls +playspace fence. Lay cushed rock, add firepit, lights, slide.

- Materials:

Crushed Rock, treated pine, Rio, misc screws, gate hardware, concrete mix, grass seed,weed and feed, plants

- Tools:

All Ryobi 18v

- Step 1:

Hire skid steering and 1m5T excavator. Remove excess dirt, flatten area

- Step 2:

Level area, build retaining walls and dirt barrier. Add seed and plants.

- Step 3:

Build fences and allow grass to grow.

Put crushed rock down and add firepit and seats while grass is off limits.

You've turned a sloping, unused area into a great space for the whole family to enjoy. I particularly like how you've incorporated play equipment alongside the firepit and seating to create a space that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Do you happen to have any before photos of the area? It would be great to see where you started and really appreciate just how much work went into the project.

Thanks for taking us through the build process. I'm sure it will inspire other members tackling challenging sloping backyards.
