My partner and I share a passionate interest in creating garden installations using DIY materials from Bunnings. He decided to surprise me for my 20th Birthday by surrounding my bird bath with the sandstone bricks from Bunnings. My present was designing the plant layout using the tiers he made! It was the most perfect, most personal present.

Levelled the land
created the inner ring by building up two layers of the small sized masonry bricks.
Create the bird bath stand in the centre of the inner tier using plain bricks.
Build the outer ring using large masonry bricks. This required a lot of levelling, digging up the ground dirt, and angling the bricks to made a larger planting area.
Planned out the plant arrangement using a wave pattern with alternating filler, spiller, and thrillers.
Planted each plant using a measuring tape to create a symmetrical pattern.

What an absolutely superb English style garden bird bath! I have always wondered if there was a way to replicate the look and feel without the huge price tag of building it in a pure circular form. Your idea of using pavers is very clever, the addition of the bird bath in the centre finishes the look. A fantastic garden addition that's really outstanding.
